I Hail Terminology Explained
This glossary defines common terms used throughout the VI Hail app and support articles.
Understanding these terms will help you use the app more confidently.
Hail
A hail is a transportation request made through the VI Hail app.
It starts when a hailer requests service and ends when the destination is reached.
Hailer
A hailer is the person requesting and taking a hail using the VI Hail app.
Driver
A driver is the independent operator who accepts and completes hails through the VI Hail platform.
Wallet
The wallet is a prepaid balance in the VI Hail app used to pay for hails.
Hailers must add funds to their wallet before booking a hail.
Wallet Balance
The wallet balance is the amount of money currently available in your VI Hail wallet.
Funding
Funding refers to adding money to your wallet using the secure Stripe payment portal.
Authorization
Authorization is a wallet balance check that occurs before a hail is requested.
No funds are deducted until the hail is completed.
Completed Hail
A completed hail is a hail that has successfully ended at the destination and has been charged to the wallet.
Cancelled Hail
A cancelled hail is a hail that was canceled by the hailer, driver, or system before completion.
Destination
The destination is where the hailer wants to go.
VI Hail automatically detects the pickup location and only requires a destination entry.
Pickup Location
The pickup location is automatically detected using the hailer’s current GPS location.
Hailers do not manually enter a pickup address.
Stripe
Stripe is the secure payment processor used by VI Hail to handle wallet funding and payments.
Receipt
A receipt is the transaction record generated after a completed hail, showing fare and payment details.
Promotions
Promotions are discounts or offers applied to eligible hails.
Hailers can also share referral codes through the app.
Referral Code
A referral code allows a hailer to invite others to VI Hail and earn a discount on a future hail when the invitee completes a trip.
Call for Help (911)
The Call for Help feature allows hailers to quickly contact emergency services directly from the app.
Support Ticket
A support ticket is a request submitted to VI Hail support for help with account, payment, hail, or safety issues.
Community Guidelines
The community guidelines outline expected behavior and acceptable use of the VI Hail platform.
Account Suspension
An account suspension is a temporary restriction placed on an account due to policy or safety concerns.
Account Termination
Account termination is a permanent removal of access to VI Hail services.
